What I love about awe is that it makes me feel spacious and tiny all in one heartbeat. Thanks for introducing the scientist who does the science into awe because i introduce awe to my Dose of Nature clients but I feel a bit vague about the scientifically proven benefits. Thank you lovely lady and it will be my podcast listening on a trip (vacation) back to the Welsh mountains next week xx
Ooooh a mountain vacation sounds so lovely (and awe-inspiring)! I hope you have a wonderful time, Kath. And YES - I completely agree about the seemingly contradictory magic of feeling so tiny and infinitely vast all at once. I want to hear more about your Dose of Nature excursions one of these days!
With you in awe. I dwell there as much as possible. I’ve been looking forward to the new episode of On Being for awhile and was thrilled when I saw the subject. Thanks for setting it up so beautifully. 🌚
You were on my mind this morning and then like magic, your newsletter popped into my inbox. ✨ ta-da!!! I’ll let that awe wash over me for a minute and pretend we are drinking a cup of coffee together.
You must have pretended REALLY HARD because at the exact moment you posted this comment, I was, in fact, drinking a cup of coffee! Cheers to you, my friend.
I’ve been exploring the relationship between awe and intimacy, but it’s a whole new concept to think awe and horror are connected. Love the idea (at least in theory) that awe expands our capacity to hold more. Thanks for giving me more to ponder.
Ooooh the relationship between awe and intimacy seems like such a rich and interesting one! I certainly notice that a shared experience of awe deepens connection, often in a way that far outlasts the experience itself.

I’m so happy to have a kindred spirit here!
