So beautifully written Lisa, thank you. I am a long hauler from South Africa. My 1st symptoms were mid March. I am finally seeing a shimmer of a ray at the end of this dark tunnel (fingers 🤞) sending your much strength and a bright light at the end of your tunnel 🙏

Wow thank you for writing just what I needed to hear. The wrong stories had been taking over today, but immediately after reading this I saw the other narratives that I will be mindful to give more room from now on.

You have inspired me Lisa. I am in awe of your strength and today empowered to begin again to rebuild my life. This isn’t the first rebuild for me. Covid is just another bump in my journey but it’s taken it’s toll on all whom I love and who love me. The lessons I’m learning are steeped in deep roots of things that need fixing. This is the catalyst. As I venture forth I have to find the strength to face what may or may not be in my present or future. Rheumatoid Arthritis... I’ll face whatever it is. I can do this. I need to get back to work and to my life!!!! Rebuild!!!

Hi Lisa, I take great comfort from your writing and will refer to this blog over and over again as it really is so powerful. This journey we’re all on is indeed a learning journey and we are developing new skills all the time - creativity, resilience, inquisitiveness, imagination, persistence, patience, empathy - all very honourable traits, and yes, as Arianna Huffington says “We have little power to choose what happens to us but complete power over how we respond.”

You really know how to put how many of us feel, into words and thoughts. I live in nys and we lost power on Tuesday. In the past, I would have been very upset. This time I took it in stride. I did things I wouldn’t normally have done. I read more, I took out my adult coloring book and gel pens and felt actually content. We have our power back, but it did make me put things in a different perspective.
